"Preserving wisdom, providing opportunity, and nurturing compassionate leaders of tomorrow."

Pal Tashi Chhyoling Monastery School (familiarly known as Gopal Gumba) is a dedicated religious and educational institution situated in Pokhara 33700, Nepal, on Buddha Shanti Marga. As a formally registered religious school, we are proud to provide a comprehensive educational path from Early Childhood Development (ECD) through to Grade 7.

Key Features and Mission

  • Mission: Our primary mission is to provide entirely free education and basic living facilities to underprivileged students coming from some of the most remote and challenging terrains of Nepal.

  • Curriculum: We balance the standard Nepalese national curriculum with specialized instruction in the Tibetan language and Dharma lessons, ensuring our students maintain their rich cultural heritage while gaining modern knowledge.

  • Lineage: The monastery is rooted in the Nyingma Pa tradition, which stands as the oldest lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, carrying ancient wisdom into the modern world.

  • Enrollment: According to the 2081 IEMIS report, our school family currently includes 108 dedicated students, each on their unique path of growth and learning.

  • Leadership: Founded by Gopal Lama in 1996, the institution continues its legacy of service near the serene shores of the iconic Phewa Lake.

Community Support

Our vision is made possible through the generosity of others. Pal Tashi Chhyoling relies heavily on donations and international sponsorships to provide for the daily needs of our young monks. These contributions cover essential costs including nourishing food, healthcare, and educational materials. We are eternally grateful to the sponsors and teachers who help create a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment for these children.
